ETHOS
My passion for reclaiming and creating is inspired by what comes from nature and the resulting beauty that only time can produce. There are already enough materials in existence today that we can utilize with stunning results. Let’s start looking at sustainable options through a different lens, one that offers beautiful possibilities… I would like my work to have a thoughtful impact on the world that we all share, a nostalgic connection to our past and be beautiful. — JS

WHAT WE DO
WE CAN PRODUCE ANYTHING IN WOOD, METAL AND STONE. PERIOD.

Jeff Soderbergh Sustainable Furnishings & Fine Art is a full-service design/build furnishings company. For over 25 years, Jeff and his talented team have been creating award-winning custom furnishings and sculptures for both residential and commercial clients and collectors. Out of his studio based in Portsmouth, RI, Jeff Soderbergh focuses on creating one sustainable heirloom piece at a time. Each piece is exceptionally crafted using timeless joinery, the finest hand-selected reclaimed materials and family-friendly finishes for years of enjoyment and easy care. Whether we’re creating a modern piece for a crisp and contemporary decor or one with a vintage vibe, our vast array of sustainable materials are hand-selected to feel perfectly at home in any environment.
CUSTOM
FOR ARCHITECTS, DESIGNERS AND HOMEOWNERS.
It all begins with a conversation, in your home, office or in our studio where you’ll speak with Jeff about the design aesthetic of your piece, the function it will serve, and the budget you’d like to set. From authentic farmhouse to ultra-modern, mid-century modern to transitional, we can design and create anything you can imagine in any style you desire. Interior or exterior. It’s that simple. We collaborate with architects, interior designers and homeowners to create extraordinary custom pieces that always come with a unique story because of the sustainable materials used. If we can think it, we can make it — in any style, using any natural material — from refined rustic to super clean and contemporary. As we work with wood, metal and stone, we always have a wide variety of textures and design elements to choose from and it’s our job to make your ideas a seamless reality.

MATERIALS FOR FURNISHINGS
The materials that we are able to source come primarily from the Northeast. They are of the finest quality and are specifically chosen for each project/use. Early homes, mill buildings, ships, churches, schools and barns are carefully surveyed and we painstakingly remove and stockpile exceptional old-growth timbers. Our large trees are either collected after storms or removed from orchards when they are at the very end of their long lives. It is awe-inspiring to be surrounded by some of these giants in the shop. The metals that we use come from small foundries or feature a recycled content above 90%. Cast concrete is an amazing material to design with and can be used in conjunction with a multitude of recycled content. If you don’t see what you are looking for, please inquire.
MATERIALS FOR BUILDING
Looking to add authenticity to your modern build? We curate and provide a diverse inventory of stunning vintage building materials for large-scale commercial projects to stunning details for residential homes. In addition, we have the ability to source specific items through our extensive network. Reclaimed wood flooring / solid and hollow beams / wall paneling / mantels / bar and countertops / custom millwork and doors. Vintage stone with incredible patina is available in a huge array of options for landscapes. Antique pavers for driveways, motor courts and hardscapes to outdoor benches and tables, fireplace surrounds and mantels. We have vast resources to draw from.
